Kathmandu. The Kalimati Fruits and Vegetable Market Development Committee has published today’s wholesale prices of various agricultural products. In today’s market, the prices of most vegetables and fruits remained stable, while some special agricultural products and mushroom varieties were traded at higher prices.

Today, the price of large Nepali tomatoes ranged from Rs. 50 to Rs. 60 per kilogram, with an average price of Rs. 53.75. Large Indian tomatoes were traded between Rs. 70 and Rs. 80, with an average price of Rs. 75. The average price of small local tomatoes stood at Rs. 25, while tunnel-produced tomatoes had an average price of Rs. 37.60.

In the potato category, red long potatoes were sold at Rs. 30 to Rs. 35 per kilogram, with an average price of Rs. 32.50. The average price of red round potatoes remained at Rs. 29.50. According to the committee, dried Indian onions were traded between Rs. 40 and Rs. 43, with an average price of Rs. 41.60.

Among green vegetables, local cauliflower recorded an average price of Rs. 84, while cabbage and carrots were traded at Rs. 45 and Rs. 73.75 respectively. The average prices of mustard greens and fenugreek leaves remained at Rs. 65, while green onions were sold at an average price of Rs. 103.75 per kilogram.

In beans and seasonal vegetables, Rajma butter beans reached an average price of Rs. 111.25. Flat beans were traded at Rs. 125, while soybean pods were sold at Rs. 140. Bitter gourd was traded at Rs. 36, bottle gourd at Rs. 73.75, ridge gourd at Rs. 53.75, and okra at Rs. 45.

Among mushroom varieties, shiitake mushrooms were the most expensive. Their price ranged from Rs. 800 to Rs. 1000 per kilogram, with an average price of Rs. 900. King mushrooms were traded at Rs. 310, while button mushrooms were sold at Rs. 420.

In the fruit category, Fuji apples recorded an average price of Rs. 290, while Nepali bananas averaged Rs. 190. Lemons were sold at an average price of Rs. 210 per kilogram. Local litchi recorded an average price of Rs. 240, while Indian litchi was traded at Rs. 290.

Among spices and other agricultural products, ginger recorded an average price of Rs. 125 per kilogram, dried chili Rs. 426.67, and dried Nepali garlic Rs. 160, according to the committee.

In the fish category, dried fish recorded an average price of Rs. 900 per kilogram, while fresh Rohu fish was traded at Rs. 330, Bachuwa fish at Rs. 290, and Chhadi fish at Rs. 245.

Although the prices of most agricultural products remained stable in today’s market, mushrooms, asparagus, soybean pods, garlic, and some fruits were traded at higher prices. Such daily market price updates are expected to help farmers, traders, and consumers understand the current market situation.
