Kathmandu — Newly appointed Minister for Agriculture and Livestock Development, Dr. Madan Prasad Pariyar, formally assumed office at the ministry in Singha Durbar on Monday.

Speaking to the media after taking charge, Minister Pariyar said his immediate priority would be ensuring the successful conduct of the upcoming election. He also pledged to focus on governance reforms and curbing irregularities within the sector.

“The election will be given the highest priority. We must work to complete it successfully. At the same time, my focus will be on implementing governance reforms and putting an end to irregularities, as mandated,” he remarked.

Minister Pariyar further endorsed a proposal to form a coordination committee for the implementation of an earlier agreement between Nepal and South Korea aimed at conducting joint research on potato and rice cultivation.
