Commercial Cardamom Farming in Dolakha

Nepal Agro Tourism has cultivated cardamom on approximately 350 ropani of land covering some areas of Melung Rural Municipality–1 and Shailung Rural Municipality–8 in the hilly district of Dolakha; this area is highly suitable for cardamom production. Varieties such as Ramsai, Golsai, Bharlang, and Todi have been planted in this area.

This organically produced cardamom is supplied not only to the domestic Nepali market but is also exported to international markets.

Besides, Nepal Agro Tourism has been offering student internship opportunities and various training programs to farmers; it has also distributed high-quality cardamom seedlings. Every year, students and farmers from different regions contact Nepal Agro Tourism for internship placements and agricultural training.
